The Men's Chorus
Dr. William Skoog, director
Rehearsals: MWF 1:30–2:20 p.m.
Men's Chorus Web site | Listen to Men's Chorus
All men interested in singing in the University Men's
Chorus should plan to attend
auditions which will start the first week of classes,
beginning at 10 a.m. on the first Monday morning of fall
semester.
The University Men's Chorus was established in the early
1920s. Disbanded during World War II because of the
shortage of men on campus, it was reactivated in 1971 by
BGSU Professor Emeritus Richard Mathey, who conducted the
group for over 25 years. It is open to all men of the University
community. During the past few years the chorus has had
between 100 and 125 members, and has toured to Florida,
New York City, Washington D. C., Colorado, and Toronto,
Ontario. They also tour annually throughout Ohio,
Michigan, and Indiana. They have recorded several CDs,
and have performed at regional and national conferences.
Members receive one hour of academic credit per semester.
